This course emphasizes inquiry and academic research. Students complete a variety of primary research activities in preparation for a research portfolio. For the portfolio, students conduct a literature review, compose a problem statement with research questions, design and conduct research to answer their questions, and write a formal research report. Students also work in groups to create a documentary about some aspect of campus. They combine information collected from interviews with alumni, information collected from the university archives and their own stories and footage to create the narrative for the documentary.
